Volunteers Needed for 70th Anniversary Event

Gary Fortun K4GJF reported that QST was sent in for the W4RKC call sign and Rich Kennedy had done the same for the other call sign. Event QSL cards will be ordered.

Volunteers are needed. Here’s a message from our President Bill KK8E: “Please volunteer to help with the 70th year Anniversary events the club is hosting this year. We especially need a good solid group of energetic people for the special event station. Please contact Gary W4GJF or Rich K3VAT and be able to assist them as required. Sign up sheets will be made available for not only the manning of the club station during the event but also with the QSLing the hundreds of QSOs I hope we are able to make, and anything else they need.  Thank you all in advance. “

There is a sign-up sheet at each meeting to sign up for all kinds of help.

Sandy Bowen KF4EKA is taking a vote on the venue for the banquet. April 14 is a possible date, so mark your calendars and save the date. Thank you, Sandy, for all the work you do.

SVARC Scholarship Announcement in QST

Our club, last year, voted to establish a $1,000 annual scholarship to be administered by the ARRL Foundation with a preference for candidates from our geographic service area. The members were enthusiastic about investing in the future of our hobby by encouraging licensed hams to continue their education. The first scholarship will be awarded this Spring, 2018.
