Effective January 1, 2021, all residents and travelers in the State of Virginia are prohibited from holding or operating a communications device while on Virginia’s highways.  

Thankfully due to the intercession of Virginia Section of, and the ARRL Amateur Radio operators and operators of Citizens Band Radio are exempt from operating these specific devices while on Virginia Highways. 

Please print and keep a copy in your vehicle[s] with Amateur Radio equipment, and, for good measure, a copy of your FCC Amateur Radio license.
